FreeWalk study trip to Israel about housing systems, sensors, bedding management, organized by Ilan Halachmiin Volcani Centre. Due to Covid 19 the study trip will be postponed to autumn 2020.
Program of study trip to Israel
Monday
- Morning: SCR – farm visit on our way to Caesarea + meeting at ICBA office
- Afternoon: Israeli Cattle breeder association (ICBA) – meeting at ICBA office
- Visit of Nahalal farm on our way to Nazareth
- Night at Tiberias
Tuesday
- Afimilk visit (factory + Kibbutz Afikim dairy cow and sheep farms)
- Touristic sites close to Tiberias and Sea of Galilee
- Night at Tiberias
Wednesday
- Driving from the Sea of Galilee to the Dead sea and Jerusalem through the Jourdan valley
- Visit dairy farm in Kibbutz Kalia with ICBA, Dead sea beach
- Night at Jerusalem
Thursday
ARO Volcani visit.
- Workshop – with technical presentation from each Israeli and FreeWalk participant – topic to be defined (could be heat stress).
- Institutional seminar (Marija presentation )
