Effectiveness

The workpackage Effectiveness of road mitigation for wildlife aims to provide an overview of our current knowledge on the effectiveness of road mitigation for wildlife, identify knowledge gaps and propose a strategy to fill those gaps, explore possible road mitigation effects - which remained hidden so far - through meta-analysis, and contribute to our understanding of road mitigation effectiveness through two selected field studies.

 

Activities:

  • Literature research: Effectiveness of road mitigation for wildlife

  • Meta-analysis research on the effectiveness of road mitigation

  • Case studies research on the effectiveness wildlife crossing structures

 

Deliverables:

  • State-of-the-art review on road mitigation effectiveness and description of the Dutch and Norwegian case studies in which the effectiveness of wildlife crossing structures is evaluated
  • Movie on the Dutch case study, to be used in presentations and social media, in which the research is shown and explained in an attractive way for stakeholders and public.
  • Scientific paper on the effectiveness of road mitigation measures, based on the meta-analysis.
